Websense® Email Security Gateway Anywhere is the next generation of email security — delivering three times the security at half the cost compared to other vendor solutions. It is a hybrid solution that combines the power of the cloud for compute intensive inbound mail processing with the control of gateway appliance to enforce outbound data loss prevention (DLP).

How It Works:

Email Security Gateway Anywhere is a part of the Websense TRITON Console. It uses the Websense Advanced Classification Engine (ACE) for unified analysis of Web, email, and DLP, and is integrated with both Websense on- premise and cloud-based platforms. Everything from management to deployment, reporting, and threat analysis for Email Security Gateway Anywhere is unified within the TRITON solution.

The Email Security Gateway Anywhere includes the Websense TruEmail DLP™ capability. Like the Websense TruWeb DLP™ capability, the TruEmail DLP capability incorporates Websense market-leading DLP technology, including Websense PreciseID™ technology via the Advanced Classification Engine (ACE) for maximum accuracy, and full workflow and reporting.

Our TruEmail DLP capability goes beyond basic keyword and regular expression engines (aka "DLP-lite") to include deep content control (e.g., fingerprinting, word context and structure, checksums). It is also fully expandable to Websense Web Security Gateway Anywhere with the TruWeb DLP capability (i.e., DLP for Web channels), as well as to Websense Data Security Suite with data discovery and coverage at the endpoint.

Email Security Gateway Anywhere uses a third-party AV engine (Authentium from Commtouch), in addition to the Websense AV signatures developed by Websense Security Labs™. These combined engines, in addition to ACE, deliver superior malware protection. The Email Security Gateway Anywhere solution doesn't just deliver email security. It includes Web security for email and DLP too — or three layers of the security coverage compared to competitors.
